Confession #1-
Every single time I drive into the city at night, I get butterflies in my stomach when I see this….
The crowded streets, the festival of lights, the idea of opportunity – it’s surreal. I feel like I just belong.
Confession #2-
I’ve been taking advantage of the fact that Trader Joe’s is a short 5 minute drive from my apartment but I always forget that little fact when I’m actually shopping. My history with shopping there is to get as much as I possibly can because it has always been an ordeal to make the hour long trip, but now I need to remember I can scale it down knowing I can run in anytime. This is going to take some time.
Confession #3-
Speaking of Trader Joe’s, have you had their sushi? I’ve heard it was pretty good for supermarket quality, but of course, being the sushi snob that I am, I was skeptical. Turns out Trader Joe’s does one more thing right, as if they haven’t done enough already.
Confession #4-
And since I can’t seem to get off the subject of grocery shopping today, Whole Foods is another one of those places I need to watch myself. I walked in yesterday for vitamins and of course walked out with a small gathering of unneeded items, including this delicious vegan chocolate cookie.
Confession #5-
I had the wonderful opportunity of befriending yet another incredible blogger in the city. Katie and I have been connecting via blogsphere for awhile and we finally came together in real life over a lunch date at Julius Meinl.
Conversing with a new friend over a good meal is my idea of a good time always. I’ve been to Julius Meinl once before for coffee, but was thrilled to try their lunch menu. I ordered the quinoa salad with beets and walnuts and an open-faced smoke salmon sandwich. Delicious!
This weekend is filled with work of course, but also a few fun fitness related events including my first RPM teaching tomorrow morning. It’s been weeks since I’ve taught and I’m starting to go through spin withdraw.
Enjoy everyone!
Question:
What are your weekend plans?
