The Weekender {3.21-3.23}

And with that, another weekend has come and gone.

It was certainly a good one here, so I really can’t complain.

In case you were all wondering as indicated from my last post, I did end up getting my long awaited fro-yo on Friday night and it was glorious!

Maybe it was because I waited all week for it, but I definitely went a little crazy with this one.  Kahlua fro-yo base, topped with copped peanuts, snickers, cookie dough and hot fudge.  Heaven!

After a great 3.5 mile run on Saturday morning, John and I got ready to make our way into the city.  He had plans to meet up with some friends to watch March Madness, and I had plans to meet this lady for lunch.

It’s probably been almost 2 years since I’ve seen Tina last, and it was great to get together and catch up!  We’ve always seemed to have so much in common (similar GI issues before) and now that we are both pregnant, it is so wonderful to have a fellow mommy-to-be friend to connect with.

We dined at Flour, a favorite Boston spot of mine.

I chose half of the chicken and avocado sandwich and a bowl of the sweet potato soup.  Everything was delicious, but we both couldn’t leave here without grabbing a few of their famous cookies on the way out.

I don’t even remember what this was or what it was called, but it was delicious!

I also left with the wonderful gift of Mary Lou’s thank to Tina!  Thank goodness my coffee aversion is fading these days because I can’t wait to enjoy my first “real” cup of coffee with Mary Lou’s soon.

After a long day, I was feeling pretty exhausted on Saturday night, so we opted to grab some Thai takeout and relax on the couch all night.

PS- I housed this peanut sauce!  The baby was definitely feeling it because I probably could have eaten an entire bowl if I had it.

We were up early this morning for church and a pre-marriage class we are taking, followed by some grocery shopping for the week.

Speaking of this week, here is a look at what I have planned for dinner.


S: Turkey and Quinoa Chili

M: Spinach and Goat Cheese Turkey Burgers 

T: Chicken Burrito Bowls

W: Strawberry and Goat Cheese Salmon Salads

TH: Butternut Squash Risotto with Chicken Apple Sausage

F: Wing it


And for fitness last week, I’m pretty happy with what was accomplished.  Having my energy back has been so wonderful!

M: 30 min on ET, 15 min of arm work


W: 3 mile run/walk, 15 min of leg work

TH: 30 min on ET, 1 mile run, 10 min circuit

F:  3 mile run/walk, 15 min of upper body

S: 3.5 mile jog

    Sounds like you had a really great weekend. Tina is so wonderful- and being able to talk to other ladies going through the same things when you’re pregnant is a blessing. Yummy meal plan. I’ll be over on Monday and Thursday 😉

  2. Haha I feel you on the froyo! I hadn’t had it in 2 WEEKS (I’m a 2x/weeks kinda gal) and was oh so happy to be reunited this weekend : )

    Looks like a fun weekend! Question – why aren’t there any oils on your Thai food?

      I’m not really sure. It came this way but I wasn’t expecting it to be all steamed veggies and chicken. It was tasty with a ton of peanut sauce.

      Because she ordered it that way. No Thai place I know of would ever make food that way unless the person specified they wanted it steamed with no oil.

        I promise you I did not order it this way. Maybe I overlooked the description. I was reading the menu from my phone.
