I am just ending a lovely Sunday with a sleeping baby on my lap and figured I had a few things to catch up on with you guys. So pour yourself a glass of wine and let’s chat…..
Oh this little ball of energy! We hit the official 2 1/2 year mark with this one last week and he just keeps us on our toes more and more each day. We’ve completed two full months of therapy (speech therapy and occupational therapy) and are still so impressed by how far he’s come in that short time. It may not seem like huge steps to some, but to us, they are gigantic gains. Some examples of how he’s improved through Early Intervention:
- Eye contact and engagement is so much less an issue than it ever was
- He is saying more words/communicating so much better
- He is engaging with his therapists, not just me and John
- He follows commands/directions a lot better
- He stays engaged in activities for longer periods of time
We’ve been getting great reports from his therapists and also his Sunday school teachers who work with Grayson each week as well. Today they told us that he actually sat and listened to the whole story during story time, which has been a HUGE goal the past few months. Grayson never wants to sit down for anything so we were thrilled to hear that.
The next steps with Early Intervention will be another evaluation in a few months to see where he qualifies for the next program, I.U. I’m also enrolling him in a part time preschool program this fall where he will possibly have his therapist attend with him to make sure he is adequately learning and socializing appropriately. I really can’t say enough about Early Intervention! They have been so incredible in helping Grayson and us navigate the journey to best help him learn.
We are still going strong on the Gluten Free/Dairy Free diet along with the supplements. We’ve really only seen improvements so there is no sense in stopping. I did start a few tests this month to check for some gut issues I thought may have been going on, but so far, his tests are all coming back normal which is great.
So this little peanut has suddenly turned into a perfect little marshmallow overnight!
First, my baby turned three months last week. 3 MONTHS?! I know, it’s unreal how fast this is all going.
Second, he is no longer that fragile little preemie he once was. Now he is a beautiful little chubby ball of love and I can’t get enough.
I have no idea how much he weighs now, but I’m guessing over 10 pounds. He is already growing out of his 0-3 months clothing, which is blowing my mind because I feel like I JUST changed out his newborn items.
This boy is thriving! For having a rough start to life, he sure is on the fast track now.
Most of the time, he’s rather content, but I’m realizing how the two boys can fight for my attention, especially during meal times. It always seems like if Grayson is hungry, Isaiah wants to eat or the other way around. Mommy hardly ever gets to eat a full meal so I’m doing what I can to ensure I’m not the one left without food either.
Life with two boys is a wild ride, but I’m loving every second.
For those that joined my Health Group Facebook Group, thank you! I’m so happy you did. 🙂 For those of you that have no idea what I’m talking about, well I mentioned a few weeks ago that I started a Facebook group geared towards overall health, nutrition, and fitness. If you’d like to check it out, feel free!
Okay second big thing…..
I’ve been working towards putting together an online wellness program for months now, and I’m so excited to tell you I’m finally ready to share!
I’ll be leading a 4 Week to Wellness Jumpstart Program starting April 17th that includes weekly meal planning and fitness planning, kitchen make-over tips, weekly newsletters, healthy and easy recipes, email support, a separate Facebook group for accountability, and more! This is not a weight-loss program! It is designed to give you the essential foundations of living out the healthiest life you deserve!
Ok here is the best part…since this is my pilot program, I’m offering it for dirt cheap! If you’d like more info or to receive a program overview, just comment with your email address or send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll be in touch with more details.
Well that’s all the updating I have for now, but it was nice to check in with you all! I hope you all enjoyed a fantastic weekend and have a lot to look forward to in the week ahead.
Talk to you soon!
