Just another low key weekend here. It’s probably for the best that we didn’t have any plans because I was pretty exhausted the entire two days. Fortunately, I was able to get some good rest and the food was good so really, a good weekend all around.
Saturday morning I was up early per usual and made breakfast for John and I. Afterwards, we took advantage of a beautiful morning and went on a nice long walk. We got back and did a good cleaning to the apartment before eating lunch and catching a few episodes of the office. John then went to work and I headed out to run some errands.
In my typical Saturday night fashion, I treated myself to sushi, a glass of Kombucha and a binge marathon of Orange is the New Black.
I ended the night on a sweet note with this chocolate dipped macaroon I snagged at Whole Foods. Not a bad way to wrap up a Saturday.
Unfortunately, I had quite a restless night of sleep. I think the position of the baby right now is causing some major discomfort. I believe he is laying horizontal in my stomach, or at least that is how it seems. On one hand, I hope that means he is moving towards the correct position but on the other hand, it’s not making things very comfortable for me.
Anyways, I got up feeling pretty tired and decided a good breakfast was in store.
I made John and I egg, bacon, spinach and goat cheese sandwiches on biscuits. OMG these were delicious!
We headed out to church after breakfast to catch the early service. I was still feeling pretty off in church so instead of going out right after like we normally do, we decided to come back and partake in an hour nap first. It was glorious and I felt so much better after that.
John and I both woke up hungry but didn’t want to waste such a gorgeous day so we ventured downtown to find something to eat.
John spotted a gourmet hot dog shop and that was that.
I don’t particularly like hot dogs but the menu was quite impressive and they even offered quite a few vegetarian dog options. I went with the spinach pesto veggie dog topped with pickles, lettuce, tomato and ranch dressing.
Sounds odd but it was surprisingly good!
Right next door to the hot dog shop was the incredible local ice cream shop we discovered a few nights ago. I couldn’t resist another scoop!
This time I went for the Salted Carmel Chocolate Covered Pretzel. Ugh, this ice cream is so good, I can’t get over it!
We enjoyed our ice cream while listening to some live jazz music in the square. Typical summer afternoon.
The rest of the day was spent watching movies and laying around until dinner.
Taco salads were on the menu.
And that is exactly how the weekend was spent. Here’s hoping you had a wonderful one too!
